History

PUFSC was founded in 1994 by Aline Attiyeh and Michelle Toering, two students who realized the need for ice time, lessons, and competitive and performance opportunities for figure skaters on campus. During their time at Princeton, the club grew, and student Caroline Gaffney established the synchronized skating team. PUFSC won Princeton’s Club Sport of the Year Prize in 1998 and again in 2017. Since the club’s inception in 1994, Princeton skaters have competed both individually and on the synchronized team in competitions across the nation.

Membership

In order to compete with PUFSC (either individually or with synchro), you must belong to the U.S. Figure Skating Association. There are two different USFSA membership options:

  1. If you already belong to a USFSA club at home, you can renew your USFSA membership through that club.

  2. If you do not already belong to a club, you can gain a 4-year collegiate membership to USFSA for $100.

In addition to USFSA membership, there are PUFSC dues. Synchro dues cover the cost of ice time, dresses, gear, coaching, travel and hotels. General club dues cover the cost of ice time and annual exhibitions.

If you have any questions about membership, please contact us.  You can also visit the USFSA membership page here.
